Streamlight TLR-1 TLR-1 is probably the most popular flashlight from the Streamlight and their base line mode. This partic- ular has 300 lumens output (some older version had lower output), with a momentary on/off and steady on/off switch. Streamlight also offers: TLR-1S with ad- ditional stobe mode and the TLR-1HL with the high power output of 630 lumens (I will write about the wonderful properties of lumens later on). TLR-1 is very often used by police and law enforcement officers. The quality-to-price ratio puts it very high on the list of tactical flashlights. TLR-2 was made on the basis of TLR-1; it was additionally equipped with a red laser pointer Size and construction: The flashlight is relative- ly big; due to the source of power consisting of two batteries CR123, it is quite wide and greatly protrudes beyond the edge of the weapon. The body is made of aluminum alloy and the whole construction seems solid. It must be highlighted that the body was anodized black, but the surface abrades quite quickly and the light-gray color of raw aluminum becomes visible. Dimensions: 86 x 37 x 37 mm Weight: The manufacturer states 4.18 oz / 118.5 g, while my scales showed exactly 118 g. Attachment: through clamp that you slide onto the rail in the weapon and fix with a screw. The assembly is possible without tools. However, in order to make it fully reliable, it is advise to use a flat screwdriver or – which works perfectly – a coin. Switch: it is located in the back part and has a shape of a two-way lever with enlarged endings put on the right and the left side of the flashlight. From a theo- retical point of view, it would seem a perfect solution for a right and left-handed shooter. However, we have www.fragoutmag.com
