In the night mode, PERI RTWL-B uses Cassidian Optronics Airbus Defence & Space ATTICA ther- mal camera. Resolution of the cooled sensor is 384x288 within the range of long thermal vi- sion (7–10 µm). Camera include an optical scan- ning system that doubles the output image resolution to 768x576 px. ATTICA are third-gen devices based upon the WBG-X cameras from 1970's and II generation Ophelios-P cameras. The manufacturer points at the modular con- struction that simplifies replacement of sub- assemblies and high-quality of imaging. The thermogram may be displayed on the screen and in the PERI RTWL eyepiece. The gunner may use two periscopes (one di- rected forward and one to the left side) and a day-night, stabilized in two planes EOTS sight integrated with the monitor. The day chan- nel of the device is based on a color camera. Similarly to PERI RTWL, there are three fields of view: 22.17x16.7° (wide) 7.2x5.4° (medium), and 2.8x2.1° (narrow). The nighttime channel is based on ATTICA camera. The sight has been also integrated with a laser rangefinder, which is the same as in the case of PERI RTWL. The head of EOTS may rotate vertically within the range from -15° to +45°. Within the horizontal plane, the optical axis of the sight tilts by 5° in both directions. The solutions used in the fire control systems of Puma go beyond the classic cooperation of the commander and the gunner in hunter-kill- er mode. Both crew members have full access to the functions of the system through their screens and may use armaments by using both EOTS and PERI RTWL. The open architecture of the system allows future expansions including an automatic target tracking system. The cur- rent stage of the project does not include that aspect yet. The driver of the vehicle has three periscopes, the middle of which may be replaced with a night vision device. Assault soldiers have a total of four periscopes: three of them were placed in the top of the hull, between the turret and the hatch, while the fourth has been mounted on its cover. The rear ramp has a visor covered with bulletproof glass. The situation aware- ness of the crew and assault soldiers is also VEHICLES
