Pants work very well in the waist – internal soft lin- ing prevents from rubbing, even if you have a heavy belt with lots of stuff on it. Pants do not have the tendency to curl under weight of your belt, while the adjustment system allows fitting – I have never ex- perienced, so far, that the adjusters would unfasten by themselves during movement, but you need to re- member that they are fastened with a Velcro strap, which loses adhesion over time. the cut of operator Combat Pants is quite skin-tight, but it still allows air circulation, which has a signifi- cant meaning during hot weather. Anatomically pro- filed knees and the addition on the gusseted groin enable performing dynamic movements without restictions – you may crouch, jump over fences or barriers, or perform high kicks without problems. of course, any pants with additions made from an stretch fabric will be far better than operator Combat Pants, but in this case - it's just good enough. the layout of pockets is practical – each (except for those concealed ones) are easily accessible, even with gloves on. the direction for closing pockets with zippers is right, so there's no possibility that they would accidentally unfasten on their own. one could argue over the usefulness of placing internal compartment only in the right side cargo pocket. Adjustment tabs on cuffs were placed in such a way that the endings overlap at height of the Achilles ten- don – they will not hook in protruding elements of the surroundings. In general, I could assess those pants quite high, if it weren't for one irritating, at least in my opinion, design thing– the way you adjust the height of knee pads. the elastic band goes through the whole cuff, from the knee to the hip pocket. It happened to me, a couple of times, that I got my toe inside the band loops when putting on the pants. Sometimes, the band may move under the pants and overlap one on another. Such a thing may be problematic, when it is additionally pressed by a thigh holster strap. Ends of the cord may also stick out from the slash pocket and hook into the belt or the knife placed in the hip pocket (especially when you place one in the pocket – I know that pants have pockets dedicated for carrying a knife, but I got used to carry a knife in the same place in all my pants). of course, there is a simple solution for that problem – you may remove the band. you may do it when you use external knee pads like Arc'teryx Knee Pads www.fragoutmag.com
