The next element of the international endeavor was to live fire exercise. Mounted Rifles presented their shooting skills that gave very good results. Soldiers of the MEDEVAC Team of the 7th Battalion of Mounted Rifles "Wielkopolska" (7bSKW) participated in training with- in the scope of providing first-aid for injured on the battlefield in accordance with TCCC rules and proce- dures . The first, theoretical part of the training prepared MEDEVAC team for practical operations scheduled for the next day. Moreover, soldiers exchanged feedback concerning operations on a battlefield. The next stage of the training was participation in international exorcises Saber Strike-16. The Polish armored infantry company, supported by Latvian an- ti-tank platoon and American cadets, performed mu- tual training during execution of attack and defense operations. After the exercises soldiers of the 5th company 7bSKW, commanded by Capt. Krzysztof Ilnicki, met with the Polish minority living in the territory of the Republic of Latvia. Soldiers presented the hosts of the visit the history and tradition preserved by the Brigade and shared their impressions from their visit to Latvia. One of the last elements of the stay in Latvia was the visit to the patients of the University Clinical Hospital for Children in Riga. Soldiers gave children teddy bears collected in Poland. Delivery of gifts was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Ewa Dębska, and the Defense Attaché, Col. Roman Opalach. The hospital was represent- ed by the member of the management board, prof. Aigars Pētersons, the councilor of the city of Riga on behalf of Unity, a Latvian political party. Riga hospital awarded the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, E. Dębska, and the group of soldiers with special diplomas - "Certificates of Friendship". During their visit, Polish soldiers expressed their hope that the given toys would bring smile to children's faces. That was the way of thanking the Latvian community for a warm welcome that Polish soldiers experienced dur- ing their stay in Latvia. On 29 June 2016, Polish soldiers moved to the ter- ritory of the Republic of Estonia, where they partic- ipated from 30 June to 31 July in another interna- tional exercises at the proving grounds in Tapa, Voru. During a one month training conducted at the prov- ing grounds in Johvi, Mounted Rifles executed a set of tasks resulting from maintaining a constant pres- ent of NATO supporting Baltic states that form the Eastern flank of NATO. The commander of the Estonian 1st Infantry Brigade highlighted that the presence of Polish and German companies, except for American units, will help in- crease the possibilities for military cooperation of those countries.
