FBI Modify – classic pre-war Police technique modified by the FBI shooting instructors. The light is held away from body or weapon, to divert the attention of the opponent away from the body of the officer. The blinded aggressor unable to identify the source of threat would fire at the light, missing the shooter. ADVANTAGES: Ä Works for all sizes and shapes of lights, no matter what type of switch; Ä The light is totally independent on the gun (firing does not affect the position of the light); Ä Allows to light the sights with fringes of the beam; Ä Allows to search / identify threats without pointing the gun (remember the initial scenario?); Ä Attracts the aggressor to the light, not the shooter. DISADVANTAGES: Ä Weak gun control – one-handed grip; Ä Hard to align the beam with bore axis; Ä Manually complicated; Ä Can be tiring over a longer stretch, especially with larger, heavier lights.
