THE SOLE The sole has a two-layer structure – its basic element is the non-marking LOWA NXT outsole with tread profile adjusted for mixed terrain. The front and the back part of the tread have stopping elements. In the area of mid-foot, the sole has been profile for the fast roping. The general shape of the tread on the outside edges of the sole really reminds of the sole of... WW2 era Gebirgsjäger boots (German mountain infantry) but – of course – it is not made of steel. The second layer of the sole, between the tread and the upper, has been made of dual density polyure- thane – it not only provides very good shock absorp- tion, but also guarantees stability of the whole boot. The inside of that layer, for ¾ of its length, has a sta- bilizer integrated. The sole, which smoothly morphs into the stabilizing MonoWrap frame, overlaps on the bottom part of the upper, enforces the bonding between those parts. A pair of LOWA TF Innox Mid size US11 (EU44.5/UK10) weighs 514 g. To compare, LOWA TF Zephyr Mid of the same size weigh 637 g, while LOWA TF Z-6S – 739 g. LOWA Innox Mid comes in two color versions – (tacti- cal ninja) Black and Coyote (well, it should be Coyote- ish, as it is more green).
