The 2016 marks the 75th anniversary of the first successful parachute drop of Cichociemni to occupied Poland – first so-called "air bridge operation" took place on the night of 15th-16th February 1941. In operations codenamed "Adolphus", two commandos and one courier were dropped from Whitley bomber from 419th RaF Squadron. It is a great opportunity to compare some of the elements of their training program with the modern successors – the GROM special mission unit. We hope you will enjoy this short photo story. Thank to GROM special mission unit commander and operators and Mr. Bartek Bera for allowing us to use the photos of GROM. We would like to also thank Mr. krzysztof Mroczkowski who shared us a fantastic set of archive photography of Cichociemni training course from the album of MaJ aleksander Prociuk (Silent Unseen alias "Pałka", the Club) EDC HISTORY
