Very important is to remember what we wear underne- ath – during cold days, when we move a lot, it is bet- ter to wear long sleeve shirts because inne side of the Atom's sleeves is made of nylon which does not take water (rest of jacket too, except fleece panels). During intensive physical activity when our arms are sweaty, they stick to the sleeves which significantly lower the comfort of use. To sum up, for all my needs Atom LT is very good piece of gear – it presents well and still works really well. RAbbIT'S fEEDbAcK I've got my first Atom LT about March 2013. I thought then that "someone is nuts thinking that I will wear down sweater in spring or summer, yeah right". Next weeks (and then months and years) showed me how mistaken I was – Atom LT began to be my every day piece of clothing. I wear it or carry with me almost whole year. In colder days of the year, which is obvious, I use it as an additional underlayer or as independent jacket. During warm days it is useful too, for example in the evenings, when sun sets and it gets a little col- der, Atom LT gives a good thermal comfort while being worn on a T-shirt. Moreover, windy summer and spring days are not a problem too. But keep in mind that side panels are letting wind through quite well so during summer it is nice but in August and winter a little chill might not be wanted. Maybe only when we do some physical exer- cises and get all warmed up. I have been using my first Atom LT for two years – yes, cleaning it in washing machine (twice, maybe three ti- mes, I don't remember) made the jacket's color a bit lighter but using cleaners designed for such clothing prevented the jacket from getting old. I also renewed the DWR coating (not to the level of that made in fac- tory but it isn't bad either, especially as I used only the liquid that is added to the washing cycle, not the spray one). I am hand cleaning my new Atom LT now, using the same cleaners, and the color holds better. As we are with washing it now – the biggest flaw of Atom LT is that the collar and cuffs are getting dirty in a blink of an eye. It can be washed out but after time full cle- aning will be necessary. Design – as for me perfect. Fitted, comfortable, some thought well about making it as it is. Nothing can be caught, nothing sticks out, no useless things. As an independent jacket and as a midlayer insulation – re- ally versatile piece of gear. Thermal characteristics are really good but in really intense physical activities, nylon lining won't transpire moisture sufficiently so it is important to wear proper clothes. And forget about cotton ones unless you plan a simple walk in the park or in the city. www.fragoutmag.com
