needed by the soldier. They do not have any food, uniforms, transportation means, boots… It is as though cliché. But when you talk to a twenty-year-old man with a forty-year-old Kalashnikov in his hand, which wears sneakers, and does not even have a helmet, not mentioning a vest, a perspective changes a lile bit. And from where does originate the Eagle's Watch? Have you had to establish the fund immediately? Try to find an organization, which will go there and will purchase an equipment for a fighting soldier. I will tell you something. When going there for the first time, still as a reporter, I have had an opportunity to have a dinner with a vice-consul and his wife. I have promised them then that I will come back and that I will help the soldiers. Only during my second stay this woman has told his husband in confidence that probably they have been just having their dinner with a madman. Why? Even, to them, who are there, has seemed that it is improbable? Yes, they have explained to me that the funds cannot be a party in the conflict, and they should remain neutral. But, to the hell, there is no civil war there. How can I stay neutral? Bring some rice to the ISIS? It suggest that it is an equipotent conflict there, in which each party is right a lile bit. But it is not like that! And how is it? I encounter the statements that "but it has always been like that there". You know, I have even asked these Yazidis if there are any chances to reach somehow an agreement with the ISIS. But they have only looked at me. They have told me that once they had lived in a village situated the Singara region, from which they have been displaced from the by the Daesh. And they have reconquered it. It has been in the middle of the winter. In front of one of the houses, a five-year boy has been dug into the snow, he has frozen, his eyeballs have been broken du to it. Whom may you talk to? About what? Here there is nobody to sit down and negotiate. Either you protect these people, or you agree that somebody will murder their children and sell the people into a life of slavery. But not everybody thinks like that, how do you get involved in it? Would not it be easier to, simply, transfer some cash to the aid organization? Certainly, it would. But nobody wants, no organization wants to go there and but a jacket, boots to the soldier to enable him to go for a patrol in the winter. Nobody wants to buy him food or pay a rental fee due for his flat. Because it is the easiest to show that you help the small kids with the snoy noses. And you know what? I have such photos, such snoy kids on the knees of the nineteen-year-old soldier. And what? You feel sorry for this child, and you do not feel sorry for this teenager whom they may fire his head? An issue of the people bought out from the slavery has already appeared a few times. Tell me about it. You can purchase a child. Generally, you can purchase everybody. When I was there in February, I observed these people who were receiving text messages with the proposals to buy out their close relatives from the slavery. For instance, a photo of the teenage girl in the dress lent against a piece of the shabby wall and a text "12 thousand USD". Such a message has been submied to her family. What happens with these people? For the ISIS, the Yazidis are labeled with "infidel", non-believers and they are intended for the extermination. They have no rights. Still there are three thousands of them in the servitude. It is also an issue of a few dozen of the Christian girls about whom nobody wants to talk. It is assumed as an embarrassing issue that nobody has been able to protect them. interview
