Well, I didn't have such possibilities and I don't think I would even try them. Funny is, I didn't find a proper place to hang myself on it either. But there is one place where that lanyard worked well and durability was tested. a WalK WitH a DoG You are right. It's unusual length is perfect for walking the dog, or for the K-9 handlers. Either police or mil- itary. That length provides sufficient freedom or the dog and simultaneously allows us to control our part- ner. Lanyard and dedicated K-9 harness is awesome and together work perfectly. Especially when you have few months old puppy which parents were Rhodesian Ridgeback and Belgian Malinois. Volcano of energy, that I could easily control which was very helpful while meeting other dogs. I could shorten the distance between us and force the dog to walk by my leg. On the other hand, lanyard was also a toy for the dog, chewing toy. Of course, after rough play with it there are no signs of it as well as on the rub- ber ending that was the main part being chewed off. Dog owners know how destructive puppies can be. Cetacea ORL passed this unusual test with A+. suMMarY In what situations, activities we can use ORL lanyard? Definitely not for the SPIE. It is simply too long. But it's length could be perfect for K-9 handlers. As mentioned, it gives proper freedom of movement for the dog and free hands of the handlers so he could reach a gun or other items needed in particular situation. Using snap shackle is also a good point because with one, single pull we can detach the lanyard from the belt, e.g. when there is need to pursue a suspect and letting the dog to catch him. Only good belt with mounting point is needed for the handler and harness for the dog. In what situations I will use it? Definitely more walks with the dog and training with him and probably as a safety measure during hiking in upper parts of mountains. equipment
