The Barrett M107A1 are available in Black, Flat Dark Earth, Multi Role Brown, Grey or OD Green Cerakote coatings. The rifle we had a chance to play with, courtesy of Polish distributor of Barrett firearms, the CENZIN company (a subsidiary of PGZ), was FDE coated. The known users of M107A1 sniper rifles are Korps Commandotroepen (KCT) special forces unit from the Netherlands and Belgium special forces. Single M107A1 with Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56mm scope, BORS system and Eberlestock carrying pack and drag bag was bought by Polish Police in 2016. Some M107A1 were seen in Ukraine during the fights against the rebels. Some sources claim that M107A1 are used by US armed forces, but that's not true. SHOOTING Frag Out! Team had an opportunity to try out Barrett M107A1 rifle during one cold day in February. The rifle had Leupold Mark 4.5-14x50mm Scope with Barrett Ultra High Rings and Barrett Optical Ranging System attached. Serbian 725 grains Prvi Partizan .50BMG Browning Match FMJ ammunition was used. What can you say about shooting from such hand- held cannon? Big rifle, big ammo and BIG BOOM! Complete weight of rifle and optics is about 13 ki- lograms (28.7 lbs), so it's pretty heavy. When set on the bipod, lock and loaded, with all the optics, the M107A1 looks as pure awesomeness. How is shooting? Well, pretty easy. Looking at the size of the rifle, size of rounds and having some stupid YouTube videos in the head, everyone (or those poor bastard who have never ever shoot with something bigger than .338) expected big blast and huge recoil. Honestly, the recoil is noticeable (remember, this is .50BMG not the .22), but it won't break your bones. Muzzle brake and internal www.fragoutmag.com
