tanks with flexible hoses (probe-and-drogue) may be carried
by C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft used by e.g. the Polish Air Force.
Italian HH-101A Caesars will be used in foreign deployments
of Italian armed forces, but will also support law enforcement
forces and rescue services during domestic operations, e.g.
natural disasters, which is something happening quite often
in Italy.
Compared to competitors, the AW101 boasts a number of
advantages. Autonomy, safety guaranteed by a modern
powerplant with three engines, and the largest capacity
of the cargo bay (among the competing solutions). All this
makes this helicopter an optimal choice for such demanding
operations as CSAR, SAR and ASW/ASuW. It has proven track
of service in the most extreme weather conditions in the
world. Certainly, it may perform as well also in Poland – be
it supporting special or naval forces anywhere in the world or
life-saving SAR operations in the Baltic Sea.
