Little over a year ago an Olight company – man-
ufacturer of excellent price to quality ratio flash-
lights, released PL-1 Valkyrie pistol WML. In end
of 2016 it was replaced by second generation,
the PL-1 Valkyrie II with some enhancements
and improvements. I own both Olight WMLs and
I were using them through couple months (Gen 1
– what is quite obvious – longer) and I can share
my feedback with you.
I have to admit that PL-1 Valkyrie, even the early
gen, messed thing up on the market. I own lot of
weapons and a lot of lights, practically only from
the top shelf like Surefire, Inforce or Streamlight
that are really great but cost a lot. No biggies,
if you need just one WML – then you buy what
is comfortable for you and try to choose what's
best ("buy once, cry once"). Unfortunately, in
my case it doesn't work as I have lot of students
in my shooting classes and every pistol must
have a weaponlight attached for low-light class-
es. There is no sense in buying made in China
POS or airsoft gun lights which looks pretty
good but falls apart after dozen or more shots
and you need to have light. And there is where
PL-1 Valkyrie comes up – good flashlight with
