When we are at the clamp already – this is great that Olight provide mount compatible with two rails standards, but it would be great, when body would consist of little more space for additional clamp bar. Maybe you don't put light from one weapon to an- other on daily basis but, has happened to me that I was carrying light under my H&K SFP9 and I couldn't gave it to my buddy that wanted to try it on with his Glock. Other thing is, that it is better to have such a small element somewhere near the flashlight, rath- er than somewhere in the deepest hells of closet. PL-1 provides great light output – I don't need ad- ditional target pointer, because I use it to illuminate the area around me. The spread of light in the PL-1 is ideal for me. Effective range leaves nothing to be desired, because it is light for pistol – I would like to remind you that most uses of pistol takes place in the distance around 7-12 meters or even less. So you don't need anti-aircraft searchlight for big money – PL-1 will prove here perfectly. In the Gen 1, annoying was the delay between push- ing the control button and the reaction of the flash- light (same for turning on as for turning off ). It wasn't so long, probably half of second, but noticeable and annoying. Luckily Valkyrie II works without any delay – I am super happy about it, because I really like that flashlight. In PL-1 earlier version there were used two blue LEDs that supposed to be used for easier finding any sings of body fluids. Probably, because I am not sure – I used them once, to find out what is going on about all that. Then I totally forgot about them, sim- ply because I have no need to use them, and besides turning them on requires pushing BOTH buttons at once. Both, at once. Yap, it can be done, but to do this you have to wrap your hand around the gun from the top, and pushing with your thumb and index fin- ger. Unfortunately, same way was used in Valkyrie II to turn on the strobe mode. Pity, because they can use the old way that is quick two clicks of one button. Lucky for me that I use strobe mode very rarely, so it is not a big deal. www.fragoutmag.com
