The earplugs, of the said weight of just 4 grams, allow the user
almost forget that he or she has something in their ears.
The sound quality is very good – in the standard mode, you will
hear the surrounding clearly, although I think that the buds add
some metallic echo, but it might me just my impression. Sounds
of shots and explosions are well-suppressed. The only defect
I have noticed (or heard, to be more accurate) is the problem
with noise caused by wind – during strong gusts, the electronic
system does not reduce the noise to a satisfactory level.
As for handling the earplug when it is put in the ear: the volume
setting is fine, they are easier to turn on/off when taken out.
One thing is for sure – it is almost impossible to use the button
while wearing heavy-duty gloves.
Summing up – if someone wants professional hearing protection
and does not want to wear over-the-ear heavy muffs, 3M
PELTOR TEP-100 should meet their expectations.
