of the two aircraft for Poland, it is still unknown where the said process is going to take place – it will be a Boeing call. Involvement of Polish industry – such as WZL-2 – in rebuilding, maintenance and servicing is still remain- ing an open question. In the case of the used aircraft, after the first period of its use, it will be provided with additional equipment according to MOD requirements, and the entity to carry out the necessary works will be select- ed by the contractor, but (as stressed by MOD) engaging the Polish industry in the task is an option. As for maintenance and service, MOD claims that in the guarantee period, this will be handled by an entity selected by Boeing. After this period, the 737-800s will be maintained locally - the WZL-2 will be also considered a contractor. OThER OPERATORS As mentioned above, Poland will become the second user of Boeing 737/ BBJ in Europe. First is Belarus and the third will be the Netherlands after decision to purchase one BBJ (737-700) at the end of March 2017. In the case of Netherlands, it is already known that the interiors will be equipped and furnished by local industry. The total cost of Dutch program is approx. 90 million EUR and the aircraft was selected after negotiations with sole manufacturer as four other bidders did not offer any aircraft meeting to the requirements set. The 737NG aircraft was chosen because the government plane will be maintained and operated by KLM staff as this carrier has expe- rience from using the 737's as main narrow-body passenger aircraft. After 2020, it will be necessary to think about the fate of the used 737-800. One of the more interesting ideas is to convert it to a combi variant – a multi-purpose transportation-passenger aircraft to enhance the potential of the 3rd Airlift Wing – photo by the US Navy AVIATION
