The cargo bay has gone through a serious changes. The floor is now coated with rubber which also protects against salt water. The on- board equipment includes now a fixed respirator and a special system to heat body fluids. The hoist operator's position has been extended by a foldable table where two LCD displays with the AIS data and the image from the surveillance system can be set. The operator can now control the surveillance system independently thanks to a control panel placed next to it. It will be now possible to recover casualties from the water in two ways – using a harness or a rescue basket. According to the Naval Aviation Brigade crews, the new basket is far better than old one. It doesn't take up space in everyday use because it can be easily folded and placed inside the container in the tail. This solution makes it possible to transport additional items in a convenient way as they do not have to be stored in the cargo bay, where space is rather limited. Another feature that has been upgraded is the engine control system, where the Full Authority Figital Engine Control (FADEC) system that facilitates the work of the helicopter crew was installed.
