+50 o C, being the limit values of the temperature range Krab howitzers are to be used in. The electromagnetic compatibility of both electrical and electronic devices was checked as well. The last tests confirmed the declared parameters of the Krab, and are yet another element on the way to introduce the new artillery systems. Krab main weapons is 155 mm L31A1 cannon, with an L/52 (8,997 mm) barrel, weighing 6,772.6 lbs., mounted in a rotating turret on a cradle base. The cannon features a monolithic reinforced barrel with a vertically-sliding falling- block action and a receiver fixed to the barrel. The barrel has been equipped with an oil buffer and a pneumatic return action, and its muzzle features a dual-chamber brake. The Krab cannon features electrical driving systems to control its movement in the vertical and the horizontal plane. The fire procedure is following: after receiving of a call for fire and of the data required to aim and set the cannon in the fire position, the position of the howitzer is determined, the ballistic and weather data are calculated and entered into the system, and the firing range is set. At the same time, the loader picks the selected projectile from the loading trays of the turret (the mechanical tray is set in a position to make the required projectile ready at hand), places projectile on the transfer arm( fixed to rotate on the shaft of the cannon cradle and functioning at any angle of barrel elevation). The arm is then placed parallel to the barrel's axis, and the projectile is moved – using a clamp – towards a forward assist locked with a block action, and entered to the chamber. Next, the second loader places the selected propellants, taken out from tube- shaped containers, and a starter taken from the magazine LAND FORCES
