www.fragoutmag.com THE BRAND NEW AK Currently, the core of the manufacturing are the 7.62x39 Sporter and Hellpup AKM-based assault rifles built according to Polish military specification which was bought in the past from the Łucznik. All the rifles and the parts are 100% brand new, designed and made in house. The Pioneer Arms Corp. does not use any sur- plus parts in their firearms. Rifles are available in different barrel lengths, with fixed and folded stock (in both side-folded and under-folded) and with wooden or polymer handguards and grips, de- pending on the customer preferences. All the accesso- ries are also made in house. What makes the Pioneer AK rifles standing out from the crowd are the barrels – most of the manufacturers use the hammer forged barrels in their products but Pioneer Arms Corp. decided to choose the cut rifling technol- ogy. The results obtained from cut rifling are very ac- curate: the groove diameter and twist are very uniform and it also doesn't put any stress on the steel. Some other methods of making rifling need the steel to be of a certain quality to work, but cut rifling can be used on a wide variety of steel grades with no problems what- soever. The complete bolt carrier group, barrel shrouds are manufactured in the lost-wax casting process (aka pre- cision casting) in the Interarms precision casting plant. PAC has a total control over the steel and pig iron used in construction plus it is working on the so-called "su- per steel" with improved characteristics and features. The internal quality control process is impressive – all the bolt carriers are even carefully X-rayed before they will pass the other testing procedures. Each firearm is reloaded and dry fired at least 20 times, then it is test fired with the live rounds. What is interesting, there is an in-house testing shooting facility indoors.
