Tropics are very specific AOR which requires
specific equipment designed to perform in wet
and humid environment with high humidity
and temperatures. Military forces that operate
in such environment quickly discovered that
standard issue footwear and uniforms were
simply insufficient and specialist alternatives
had to be developed. That is the story behind
the USGI legendary Jungle Boots, which were
introduced over 60 years ago and used the
solutions dating back to World War II. Jungle
Boots in all their different variants and local
versions, became the symbol of tropical
warfare. In 2016 another, direct successor
of the cult Jungles surfaced from the mud -
Salomon Forces Jungle Ultra.
