The plan is to put the new G550s to operational status
close to the end of 201, when the leasing of the current-
ly employed Embraer 175s expires and the air crew
completes the process of certification for HEAD
flights. Then, there will also be a Boeing 737-
800 available on the premises of the 1st
Airlift Base in Warsaw.
It is likely that there will be more
G550s in Polish Air Force because
there is still a need to acquire the
second pair of "flying cabs" for
gov VIPs. They may also act as an
interesting and flexible airframe
variant to be adapted for different
special purposes, including patrol
aircraft, surveillance aircraft, or early
warning and control aircraft.
