WIDE RANGE OF PARTICIPANTS The main players in this so called Special Operations Air Land Integration (SOALI) operation were the elements of the 11th Airmobile Brigade. This unit, part of the Dutch and the 1st German/Netherlands Corps (1st GNC) is a light and rapid infantry unit that can deploy within 7-20 days anywhere around the world and consists of the following elements: 11 th Staff Company 11 th Infantry Battalion 11 th Engineer Company 11 th Maintenance Company 11 th Supply Company 11 th Medical Company 11 th Brigade Recce Company 12 th Infantry Battalion 13 th Infantry Battalion 20 th National Reserve Company. When working together with the Defence Helicopter Command the 11th Airmobile Brigade is renamed into the 11th Air Manoeuvre Brigade. The Defence Helicopter Command provides necessary helicopters for troops trans- port and cargo flights and providing Close Air Support (CAS) and reconnaissance if necessary. Together with the infantry units and the assigned helicopters the 11th AMB can also be tasked with offensive Air Assault Operations (AASLT). The other major player in the exercise was the KCT (Korps Commando Troepen), the special forces unit of the Royal Netherlands Army, tasked with a wide range operations including among others: Counter Terrorism Crisis Management Peace Keeping Operations Special Reconnaissance Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Non-Combatant Evacuations. The KCT played until recently an important role in Afghanistan as part of ISAF. Today elements of the KCT are actively involved in operations in Mali as part of the MINUSMA mission. REPORT
