Ä multi-purpose MT 756 with tandem HE warhead, Ä HEDP 502 RS (150 mm RHA), Ä ASM 509 (programmable bunker-buster), Ä HE 441D RS, Ä ADM 401 air-burst fragmentation Ä SMOKE 469C, Ä ILLUM 545C, Ä Training: TP 552 and sub-caliber TP 553B. Ammunition development for Carl Gustaf continues – SAAB plans, that in the nearest future they will launch manufacturing of programmable HEMG fragmentation round with tungsten effec- tors and programmable ADM 401B fragmentation round. There are two SAAB grenade launcher tin production, the M3 and M4 and they differ in significant manner. First version have barrel tube made out from plastic reinforced with fiberglass, steel insert with grooves and steel side-open breach with Venturie's nozzle. Overall weight of empty Carl-Gustaf M3 is 10.4 kilograms. Overall length is 1065 mm. Durability of barrel, what in practice means durability of whole grenade launcher, is set for 1000 shots. M4 variant have barrel tube from fiberglass with titanium alloy in- sert. The breach was upgrade with aluminum alloy parts. The M4 comes with accessory rail for aiming devices, including universal aiming module with laser rangefinder and ballistic calculator. M4 has simple red-dot sights mounted as standard. The front grip is removable and could be replaced with FCU control grip. The new launcher has shots counter. The durability is exactly the same as previous one – 1000 shots. Overall weight of Carl-Gustaf M4 is noticeably lower (6.7 kilograms) and overall length is 993 mm. New model has very important change – a two-stage safety sys- tem was introduced, what allows to carry M4 with round loaded which was impossible in previous versions. Due to higher price of new model, SAAB does not abandon older and heavier M3 man- ufacturing, with exactly same performance. M3 is offered as a support weapon for infantry and M4 for some more demanding users such as SOF or airborne units. Instalanza SA C -90R(M3) Spanish Instalanza SA has in its offer two multiple-use grenade launchers in the offer, C-90R(M3) and ALOCTAN- 100(M2). First is the variation of their single-use C-90 gre- nade launcher. R in the name means Reusable. The basic single-use C-90(M3) was introduced in 1978-1981, the sec- ond generation C-90-CR(M3) appeared in 1990s and the lat- est C-90-CS(M3) was unveiled in 2001. The latest generation can be used in confined spaces. The C-90 grenade launchers of different versions are used in 12 countries. Family of C-90 grenade launchers use projectiles with recoil- les-rocket propellant system. 90 mm round is factory pre-in- stalled in single-use launcher tube made from epoxy and fiberglass. Grenade launcher comes with optical sight and have adapter to mount VN38-C night vision sight. Muzzle ve- locity of C-90(M2) rounds is 160-185 m/s and effective range from 300 to 750 meters. The C-90-CR are offered in following versions: Ä C-90-CR-RB HEAT (capable to penetrate 480 mm RHA) Ä C-90-CR-AM HEAT-FRAG (220 mm RHA) Ä C-90-CR-BK bunker buster (140 mm RHA or 300 mm of re- inforced concrete) Ä C-90-CR-FIM smoke/incendiary Weight of grenade launchers range from 5.1 o 5.6 kg depending on version. C-90-CS container-launchers come with: Ä C-90-CS-RB HEAT (capable to penetrate 480 mm RHA), Ä C-90-CR-AM HEAT-FRAG (220 mm RHA), Ä C-90-CR-BK bunker buster(140 mm RHA or 300 mm rein- forced concrete). C-90 is heavier – weight of weapon ready to fire is 6,9-7,3 kg. New version of multi-use C-90R(M3) was presented in 2016. Projectile with ignition mechanism and counter-flow can be loaded to modified tube launcher even in the field conditions. According to www.fragoutmag.com
