The M-346FA (Fighter Attack), another variant of the Master advanced trainer jet. The
M-346FA will receive a Grifo-346 multi-mode airborne radar with a new antenna and
signal processing systems, a self-defense system, and feature seven hard points to offer a
maximum lifting capacity of 2,000 kg.
According to Leonardo's reps,
the T-100 trainer jet offered to
USAF as part of the T-X program
together with the American
DRS reached the expected
performance parameters before
the deadline set by USAF to
28 June 2017. The consortium
offering the modernized version
of the M-346 includes also
Honeywell, the supplier of the F124-GA-200 engine and CAE, the manufacturer
of the dedicated training system.
M-345 HET (High
Efficiency Trainer),
developed on the basis
of the experience
with the Alenia
Aermacchi M-311, is
an airplane designed
as a successor or
a competitor of
turboprop aircraft such
as PC-21, Super Tucano, or light jet aircraft such as e.g. L-39NG.
