ParT i – Mission Territorial Defense Forces mission is simple – to pro- tect people among whom soldiers live, to strengthen social bonds, and to empower local communities. The foundation of this service is to act locally. TDF sol- diers will be committed to helping their friends, fam- ilies, and neighbors, not only in wartime, with guns in their hands, but also during natural disasters and other catastrophic events. The need to have such effective- ly reacting service has been clearly proven by recent events taking place in Poland. ParT ii – TraininG The duty in Territorial Defense Forces lets its soldiers achieve a balance between their personal life and com- mitment to army. "Territorials" need to devote only two days per month for their training. They will spend two weeks per year on the training ground. We draw on the experience of people who have earned it in battle. The core of the command and training staff is composed of special forces soldiers, who have learned that strict rule policies don't work well in circumstanc- es where you have to act quickly and effectively. We have adopted these assumptions for our purpose. We are against ossified dogmas, and we're open to innova- tive solutions. Mobile Training Teams instructors, who become mentors of those in their charge, were serving earlier in Iraq or Afghanistan, but the soldiers forming the structures of TDF come from all branches of the Polish Armed Forces. That's why they contribute to this new national defense force with different kinds of experience and a broad scope of knowledge. There may appear a question of whether the number of training days, which may seem small, is enough to prepare a "territorials" for action. Except for the 124 on the training ground and in lecture rooms, they will be required to self-develop. Our soldiers receive tools www.fragoutmag.com
