Certainly, actually, only the second button is the on/off switch while the first one is a mode switch, but I must admit that, in particular, at the beginning of the tests it happened to me to confuse them. It certainly has a lot to do with a fact that a majority of my other flashlights has the switches aside their bodies so I am used to this location. Nevertheless, when you use it you very quickly begin to appreciate an idea of a split activation and mode management. It allows for a total elimination of unintended change of the lighting mode, which occur when you have another configuration. It also greatly facilitates maintaining a full situation awareness. Well, maybe I am absent-minded, but when I use a well-known flashlight with an integrated switch and mode selector, there are situations that I am not sure what will happen after the subsequent press of the button. In the case of the Fenix TK20R this problem just does not exist. The body with a 25 mm (1") diameter fits very well in hand, also in the case of the person with small palms. A surface of the enclosure is mostly covered with the anti- slip pattern, which perfectly works when the flashlight damp or even quite wet, but it has not any greater impact on a grip stability when you cover it with mud or blood. In the latter situation, a quadrangular ring winded up at the two-thirds of its length supports maintaining a full grip. It also decreases a probability of the uncontrolled rolling the flashlight away. If it is inconvenient for anybody, you can remove it very simply. Since I have already described both switches and a comfortable grip, so in my opinion it is high time to mention the greatest issue in terms of ergonomics: if you do not have large palms, practically you have no chance to arrange your fingers to be able to handle both button in a reliable and convenient www.fragoutmag.com
