Maybe that decision may look controversial for some- one, but in our opinion carrying weapon without round in chamber (or totally unloaded) is a mistake. If you do not fill sure enough and safe enough to carry firearm in Condition 1, maybe you just not ready to carry it at all? Subject of carrying a firearm is very wide, so to nar- row it down in this article we will focus only on Con- ditions of carrying. We omit on purpose things like holster and its placement, proper outfit or owner's mental and physical readiness. There will be more suitable time in future. For simplification we consider two situations: Condition 1 (C1), weapon with magazine inserted, round and safe- ty on, if manual safety is present) and Condition 3 (C3), when weapon has magazine inserted, but no round in the chamber. Since modern firearms are build for safe carrying with the round chambered (external manual safety or internal safety) question pops up – why consider anything differ- ent than C1? Most popular arguments and answer for them. Negligent discharge while drawing and holstering (shooter's fault) Reason: evident lack of training or unfamiliarity with construction of the weapon for example: not used safety or de-cocker (firearms in in fact in Condition 0 not proper for carrying). www.fragoutmag.com
