This action allows to "buy" some precious seconds. That behavior is intuitive anyway. To try that we did some tests with two men in front of each other armed with UTM marker rounds. On the com- mand, they have to draw firearm from concealed holster and take two shots toward the threat. Drill was carried out by two advanced shooters, but none of them did have a "proper" shooting stance with both hands on the gun. They tried to avoid potential shot, became smallest tar- get possible and fire accurately as quickly as they can. It resulted intuitive firing from one hand (first from the hip right after the draw) with body rotation at the same time, tilting the silhouette and moving (to intuitive become harder to hit). To prepare this article we conducted series of experi- ments inspired by Tueller Drill and 21 feet rule. To come as close as we can to be realistic, we made few assumptions: our Good Guy is dressed as typical gray ma with IWB hol- ster and armed with Glock 17 with UTM conversion kit. In order to focus him on something, else every time scenario starts with him typing on the phone. Aggressor is in the distance (accord- ingly 7, 3 and 1 meter) and is at- tacking someone else with the knife and then starts to move towards Good Guy. For the Good Guy, a moment getting his attention is scream of wounded person. It is situation where attack on the life or health is real, direct and sudden so there is presumption that using a firearm is justified. Do not examine law aspect of this situation here, just assume that it is justified. We are aware that despite previously described assumptions it is only lab test. There is lack of threat analysis and making decision process, no rush of adrenaline and reaction of the Good Guy is instant because he is "programmed" this way. And there is no need to identify the threat, because we already know that. It only shows that in real world scenario it will be much different and complicated. What is interesting during making videos we have noticed that aggressor behave like in Stanford's experiment... With every another assault he find out to be more brutal and aggressive, and attacks were stronger and elabo- rated. TRAINING
