7. Important conclusion – carrying a firearm and knowl- edge how to use it is not enough. In case of someone car- rying firearm, training should relay at some point on prop- er exercises from self-defense (like Israeli Krav Maga), for example how to prevent against taking the weapon out. 8. During the experiment one element was missing, shooter could use another distracting element for the ag- gressor: strong voice command „stop!" 9. Very interesting observation noticed by Aggressor. Multiple times noticing object that looked like firearm (be- ing firearm indeed) act very cooling down… but only for a split of second. Thinking process that was going inside brain of attacker was simple: me or him, what increased determination. Drawing a firearm only spins the circle of aggression. It only confirms that drawing a firearm is ultimacy and in this situation shooter cannot hesitate. If there is attacker with knife coming right at us and he attacked someone else right on our eyes, we can safely assume that drawing a firearm will not make it any worse. On the contrast principle – imagine situation of argument or dogfight and then drawing a gun… Instead of conclusion – few simple and uncomfortable truths for those ones who carry. Remember, the most important is conscious training, and not just making holes on the paper target or train- ing circus tricks that only looks cool. You want to carry a firearm everyday? Train consciously in the circum- stances and condition as close as possible to real ones (holster, Conditions and clothes). Off course it's cool to dress like some special forces operator or favorite hero from movie/game (what can we say – we do it ourselves :D) but do not forget that you have to train in your "natural environment". With all recognition we bypass the "Train as you fight" term, because it became so fancy and well-worn that everyone forget about its meaning. OK, most European commercial shooting ranges will not allow for C1 condition and they require to fire from one line. Here, against it come companies like ours with wide spectrum of classes. Good option is to get few buddies and renting whole shooting range that allow to fire in minimum two and best is three directions (180 degrees). But before that it would be recommended to get familiar with techniques and shooting exercises with reputable instructors to pre- vent bad habits. www.fragoutmag.com
