somewhat mimetic), it does not work in desert conditions because the shapes found natu- rally in such settings are completely different. Meanwhile in Poland, the desert camouflage was created by changing the color scheme from the "forest" variant to a "desert" variant. Job considered done. It's possible to do the same with MAPA, but the difference is that MAPA will still offer perfect camouflage in both new ter- rain and color setting. In addition to that, it is possible to apply various mechanisms such as screening, Floyd-Steinberg dithering, and other that can improve camouflage effect even fur- ther. This will, of course, affect the complexity of the pattern and the manufacturing process, but nothing is impossible, especially given the present level of technological advancement. So we know what MAPA is, but can it gain a wider recognition as something more than a research-scientific project? There's been a big interest in MAPA among commercial vendors, but also among end users from various types of military and law enforcement communities. Many were surprised that at MSPO 2017, MAPA was presented at MASKPOL S.A.'s stand as a camouflage solution for the new DROMADER system, which was developed as a solution for the Territorial Defense Force. At present, Mask- pol (PGZ) holds an exclusive license to use MAPA camouflage. There is thus a big chance for MAPA to become the new camouflage pat- tern of the Polish Armed Forces in the future since our army has been looking for a worthy successor to the aged wz. 93 "Pantera" for quite some time. Of course, works on other versions adapted to specific conditions and landscapes (desert/ steppe, snowy winter) or designed for the broad range of law enforcement are already in prog- ress. equipment
