www.fragoutmag.com IKEM about Suunto I received the watch before the issue of a large update (1.11.56) and I had some problems with using it. It would not cooperate with my phone (Android), lacked several functions, and the GPS could crash for no rea- son. However, after several days of use, SUUNTO sent me an e-mail (very kind of them) about a new firm- ware. I must admit that in the case of smartwatches, I like the fact that every new update fives them „new soul" – it is actually as if you had a new watch. The new software version finally included the timer – a minor detail but very useful option that I use a lot – it had been the thing I missed the most in the previ- ous system version. The compass has been improved and it is now displayed on the main screen in a visi- ble and non-intrusive way. The synchronization with Android has been improved – finally, you can synch with phones based on that system and it works very smoothly. Connecting with my Android phone used to be a pain and sometimes ended up as an unsuccessful attempt. The GPS was improved – there will no longer be a situation when something crashes, the measure- ments are accurate. Of course, all of that depends on sampling (no changes in that matter – just as Rabbit mentioned, the precision of the simplest mode is just stipulated while the other two are just an overkill to the battery...). One should then choose relevant parame- ters according to their physical activity. The watch strap is very good – the silicone is soft and pleasant to the hand, being at the same time very du- rable. I have been using it for several months and do not notice any signs of wear. The watch has a solid case and a high-quality glass – no scratches or abrasions, despite the fact that I have not treated it gently and it had been used by Rabbit who, those are his words, did not pay much attention to hav- ing it on the wrist. Spartan Sport Wrist HR looks elegant – I switched from a Travers Alpha, so I must admit that the watch is not your usual tactical-type and it will not scrub against your shirt, so feel free to wear it with a suit. My previous watch had a knurled bezel that would damage the cuff f my shirts. Oh, but it looked so savage. The touchscreen is very accurate. One may find it a redundant feature, but it is common among smart- watches and in the case of Spartan, it works precisely and flawlessly. As for the vices, I would point out the low quality of vibrations. They are so gentle that wak- ing me up is out of the question. Sometimes, I did not even notice the notification about the low-battery status. Sometimes, during an intensive physical effort, I would sweat so much that the pulse meter would go crazy – but the manufacturer itself warns about that disadvantage, so I am fine with it. I have dealt with various watches with an integrated pulse meter I that makes me convinced. The watch is slightly higher and www.fragoutmag.com
