Remember OICW? The US armed forces canceled the program few
years ago but South Koreans have introduced the K11 weapon sys-
tem combining the 5.56 mm assault rifle, 20 mm grenade launcher
and digital FCU. The K2 assault rifle is attached below the grenade
launcher with the effective range of approx. 800 meters (air-burst
ammunition compatible). The box magazine holds five 20 mm grena-
des. Total weight of K11 is 6.5 kg and in the latest K11 Upgrade
variant – 5.5 kg
The ZM Tarnow .308 Win SKW-308 and .338 LM SKW-338 semi-auto-
matic sniper rifles developed in Poland. Those are in technology demon-
strator phase but first trials were planned for the end of 2017. Both
rifles could be considered as a replacement of old Dragunov SWD still
used in Polish Army. The SKW family rifles are build in piston AR-15/AR-
10 style. The SKW-308 with 508 mm long barrel weights approx. 6 kg
and the SKW-338 with 660 mm barrel weights approx. 8 kg.
