The 2018 Glock 19X is basi- cally the Glock from the MHS program, minus the ridiculous safety thingy on the slide (what is curious, some gov clients over the years did ask Glock about this feature). Gun comes with tritium night sights (in the form of glowing white dots). Besides the piece itself, the lovely tan case in which the gun is delive- red with three spare magazines: one 17 rounds with the standard base and two 19 round maga- zines with +2 extended base. There is also a set of backstraps to customize the grip to fit our hands. All in all the set is quite impressive. The 19X is advertised as a Crossover (with the term coming directly from the automotive in- dustry) and is meant for people who find the Glock 17 to bulky for everyday carry , especially CCW, but on the other hand find the Glock 19 grip to short for their hands, forcing them to use extended magazines. The overall length of the 19X is just 4 mm longer of the standard Glock 19. (chambered in 9mm NATO and .40 S&W, as the US forces were looking for a new type of round as well) were the bedrock to the development of the 19X. Both were build around the same full size frame with RTF textured grip without finger grooves and shortened slides with the Glock Marksman Barrel. The MHS 2016 shared featu- res later added to the Gen 5, which had its debut a year later. The main differences between the 2016 MHS and the Gen 5 was the tan frame and slide color and the safety lanyard loop in the back of the grip (instead of the previous one located directly in the grip), as well as the ambidextrous external safety switch on the slide. Yes, that is correct, he US Armed For- ces specified that the gun, despite its Safe Action system and three internal safety systems had an external safety switch. The P320 MHS also comes with external safety switch. www.fragoutmag.com
