Lotos I was chilling out on the Alpine slope, getting some sun tan on my face, tired because of doing nothing. Somewhere in the back I hear roaring engine of my 84' Porsche Carrera. There are also some young beautiful chicks with Jagermeister shots around me. And there is me in my shiny black uber-awesome jacket making me feel like a boss. Well, that could be the story, except that buzzer woke me up and I had to return to the reality. The only thing remained was that awesome jacket from Carinthia. I have been using the Carinthia Ultra Jacket quite of- ten, because it is well-made and well-designed plus very compact, so it never had a chance to spend time in closet. The new product from Ultra line-up is a premium crossbreed between underlayer and mid-layer and top-layer. Indeed, a functional clothing with G-loft insulation. Except its insulation properties, the Ultra Jacket is lightweight and flexible. The design is simple and streamlined, looks really modern and bit premium. The sat- in outer fabric has even some vibe in it. Jacket will blend in Alpine slopes, mountain shelter and shooting range easily. In winter I have been using it as a mid-layer and as top layer when it was warm enough. During the use I've noticed that depth of the pocket and length of entry zips is just perfect. I didn't have a problem with lacking hood, but may be that's the reason it feels like all-round piece of clothing not just outdoor one. Since the Carinthia workmanship is already known, after cou- ple months of constant use, jacket still looks almost brand new. What you pay is what you get and for Ultra Jacket the MSRP is quite reasonable. www.fragoutmag.com
