RABBIT
I have been using Carinthia Ultra Jacket for couple of
months, since Summer 2018. Of course, in summer time
there were not many opportunities to wear it, but during
Fall I wore it quite often. I've tried di-erent configura-
tions, as a stand-alone jacket and combined with softs-
hells and hardshells for more insulation and I had to ad-
mit that Ultra Jacket works well in any of these.
One thing to remember when wearing it stand-alone are
arms form the flexible stretch fabric. They are not as wind
resistant as the main body fabric (G-loft insulated and
covered with nylon shell), so I would recommend the use
when there is absolutely no wind or some light breeze.
Otherwise, you are going to feel discomfort on the sides
of core and elbows.
When worn as mid-layer, the stretch parts are greatly
improving the ventilation and the thermal regulation. It
worked for me in winter when combined with Arc'teryx
LEAF Alpha and Drac tops. It can be also deployed with in-
sulation jackets such us Carinthia MIG 3.0, but this I
would recommend only for some extremely low
temperatures. I've tried this setup once, but
only indoors.
Quality is "usual Carinthia". Top-notch fabrics
and craftmanship. The main fabric is really lightweight
and thin, so not very durable. The flexible arms and el-
bows improve the mobility, it's way easier to flex your
arms, especially when wearing t-shirt under-
neath.
