URBAN WARRIOR 1999 and a very limited number of uniforms were issues to them. Most of the uni- forms delivered featured the cotton U.S.MARINES branch tape above the left breast pocket and some of them had also USMC EGA stamp on the left breast pocket, applied individually. The foreigners removed the branch tapes or sharpie'd the U.S. letters. No nametapes were used the exercises. Ultimately, the T-Pattern was never adopted and become a scarce and highly valuable modern cam- ouflage collectors' item. Some of the sources say, that camouflage performance was much lower than expected and the distances between shapes in the pattern didn't provide effective concealment on dif- ferent distances. Unfortunately, there is no official report available anywhere at this moment to confirm that. Fact is, the idea of urban camouflage pattern was forgotten for couple of years. It resurfaced back in the 2001 when USMC trialed new digital cam- ouflage pattern, later adopted as MARPAT. Initially, woodland, desert and urban variant were tested but only first two were later adopted. Again, the urban MARPAT became a highly sought collector's item. Weird shit
