The driver's seat is adjustable in eight direc- tions, including settings for the lumbar sec- tion. The driver's and the passenger's seats are very comfortable. However, it is difficult to find your "spot" behind the steering wheel due to the lack of longitudinal adjustment of the steering column and longitudinal adjust- ment of the armrest on the central console. Although front seats are really comfortable, people who are taller than 170 cm or of de- cent weight will not be able to experience the same comfort as the driver and the passen- ger in the front seat. Navara has seven air- bags, including a curtain and a driver knee airbag. Thermal comfort is provided by dual zone climate control with airflow for back seats. The next thing that draws attention is the dashboard. At first glance – you may think it is plastic... Yes, but high-quality plas- tic, well-fitted and noiseless. The main element of the middle cockpit is a mul- timedia system with GPS and a 7-inch display. The manufacturer ensures free navigation software updates once a year, for three years since purchase. Use of the audio system, the navigation and other elements of the multimedia system is completely seamless and very intuitive. The audio system has six speak- ers, a USB plug, and a Bluetooth module. You can connect your smartphone, both with An- droid and iOS, without any problems. Thanks to the multipurpose steering wheel, you can control the audio and the car menu while still having both hands on the steering wheel. The lack of designations on buttons used to raise and lower windows in the driver's door may be a bit irritating – when you are using the car for the first time, you may think that those buttons without icons are just plugs. One thing is certain – if you are not a giant and prefer sitting a bit lower in the car, you will see a large part of the engine cover in front of you and you will have to rely on driver assistance systems to park the car. What about seeing what is be- hind the car? Well, it is a pickup after all. So, when you look behind, you will first of all see the body of the vehicle and you will have to rely on electronics. This is where technology comes in handy – the system of 360-degree cameras will serve its function and support the driver during parking. Navara is also equipped with large, heated, electrically con- trolled external mirrors. Unfortunately, there is no blind spot sensor, which would be a nice addition, bearing in mind the size of the car. We start the engine… The model we tested was Nissan Navara N-Guard with a 2.3 bi-turbo diesel en- gine, generating 190 HP at 3750 rpm and 450 Nm torque at 1500–2500 rpm and 7-speed automatic gearbox. Despite the high torque and pretty decent power, you will not consider this car a dynamic demon. And it does not need to be like it. All in all, it is not a sport car but almost 2,000 kilograms of a workhorse pickup that is supposed to get its owner, the cargo and the passengers to their destination, safely, comfortably, and efficiently. The car is capable of transport- ing a load of over 1,000 kilograms while its maximum towing capacity is 3.5 t. It would seem that thanks to the new, seven-speed gearbox the driving will be efficient and dy- www.fragoutmag.com www.fragoutmag.com www.fragoutmag.com
