MSBS upper receiver has ejections ports on both sides and user may select the side by covering the un- used port with polymer flap. Just behind the port, there is flat case deflector which can be transitioned to the other side of the weapons as it is attached with two screws. The SCAR has ejection port one side only and it cannot be converted to left/right side ejection. Polymer de- flector fixed. The MSBS barrel is attached with barrel extension and double-sided turnbuckle. To detach the barrel, it is required to unscrew the turn- buckle on the one side and just pop out barrel. To re-attach, barrel must be reinserted to the housing and secure with turnbuckle. Detaching barrel from SCAR is more compli- cated as it requires partial disas- sembly and removing six screws. Both rifles have polymer lower receivers sharing AR-15 layout with interchangeable pistol grips which could be replaced by the end user. There are some de- tails making them totally differ- ent from each other, because of overall design of the weapons. MSBS stock mounting plate is connecting both receiver parts and is locked in place with de- tent in back part of recoil spring (SCAR lacks the detent).
