Aerobatic teams of the Russian Aerospace Forces also flew during the
MAKS, obviously. These included: Strizhi (MiG-29), Russian Knights (Su-
30SM), and Falcons of Russia (Su-35). Ka-52 display turned out to be
most spectacular among the rotary-wing assets.
Meanwhile, one of the unexpected highlights was a dynamic display of
the Beriev Be-200ES hydroplane. Seemingly heavy aircraft turned out to
be very agile. The most spectacular element of its display routine was a
water drop that formed a Russian flag in the air.
The Russian Top Gun, however, a duo of two Navy Su-30SM Flankers,
was the most interesting part of the display in Moscow. The display
presented the Flanker's dogfight capabilities through pure poetry written
with thrust and maneuverability, creating a true, airborne theater in the air.
