the recoil spring with rod as the re- coil spring back plate is also stock plate assembly. This part in MSBS is larger and heavier. Upper receivers are the most similar parts of these two rifles. Both are made from aluminum and are fitted with steel rods and barrel nuts. Even their shape is almost same. In later MSBS prototypes the design was shaped differently. ACR lacks the ejection port on the left side and has single side char- ging handle. It might be relocated to the other side without tools, but MSBS has the ambidextrous charging handle. Both rifles have non-reciprocating charging han- dles which can be used for emer- gency reloads too. MSSB has two ejection ports on sides of upper. The unused port must be covered. There is also a polymer casing de- flector attached with two screws. ACR has single ejection port with deflector (it can be removed if ne- cessary). Rears of uppers are different due the stock adapter design and upper/lower connection. ACR has rear pin and GROT does not. Front parts of upper receivers share some similarities and the handguards are attached in simi- lar way. They are attached to de- tent in the front and pinned in the back. We won't compare the hand- guards as the ACR came to us with aftermarket one. Basically, they are same except the standard ACR handguard has KeyMod interface (M-LOK one was unveiled during SHOT Show 2019) and MSBS has M-LOK slots and QD sling attach- ment.
