of 512 with polymer protective hood, instead
of aluminum "armored" hood characteristic for
EOTech HWS. Except this, it has all the features of
older brother.
502-0 is run by twin AA batteries placed in battery
compartment on front. The compartment has
polymer body locked to the aluminum base with
safety lever. There is thick rubber seal inside to
protect batteries against elements and to eliminate
wobbling. Sight is waterproofed and weather
sealed. The operating temperature is from -40C to
+65C with recommended lithium batteries or from
-28C to +60C when standard alkaline batteries are
used.
Optics are sealed for better fog resistance and
are anti-glare coated. Windows is made from 1/8"
glass for clearest view possible and wide field of
view.
The base (with mount) and the lever are aluminum
alloy and all the other parts (excepts the optics
of course) are polymer to shave off some weight
but keep sights as durable as possible. The 502-0
is about 100 grams less than the legacy 512 and
weights around 260 grams (batteries included).
