International aerospace exhibitions, such as Le Bourget, Farnborough or MAKS in Moscow,
have always been seen as a place where extension of diplomatic jousting could take place.
Since some time now, a new type of Cold War emerged between Russia and the West. The
above means that the Russians are not really keen on visiting the Western air shows and,
vice versa – rarely are the western designs displaye in the East. This is probably tied to the
Ukrainian crisis, among other factors. Thus, some practical implications also emerge.
