According to these recommendations, persons who have been traveling to the listed countries or suspect the infection, shall immediately call, by phone, a local sanitary-epidemiological entity, or go to a contagious disease hospital/contagious disease-observa- tion ward directly. It is not recommend- ed to visit the primary physicians or the rescue wards. As infections caused by SARS-CoV-2 started to become more and more com- mon, several myths started to circulate in social media and the Internet. Let's have a closer look at those. TRUE MYTH TRUE MYTH Exposure to sun or temperatures higher than 25C prevents COVID-19 infections. You can get infected with SARS-CoV-2 regardless of how sunny or hot the weather is. Hot climate countries, such as Brazil or Peru, also reported COVID-19 cases. To protect yourself, you need to thoroughly wash your hands and avoid touching the eyes, mouth, or nose. And, above all, avoid contact with the potentially infected persons. If you can hold your breath for 10 seconds, or longer, without coughing or feeling discomfort in your chest, this means that you are not suffering from COVID-19. Dry cough, dyspnoea, and fever are the most common symptoms of COVID-19. The only method to confirm whether you have been infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 is the RT-PCR labora- tory test that is carried out at a certified laboratory. Do not order tests at some shady online shops. The COVID-19 disease cannot be confirmed with the use of the aforesaid breathing exercise that could even be dangerous. TRUE MYTH Spontaneous healing is possible in case of the COVID-19 cau- sed by the SARS-CoV-2. SARS-CoV-2 infection does not mean you would carry it for life. Most of the infected persons will spontaneously eliminate the coro- navirus from their organisms. If you suffer from cough, heightened body temperature or breathing difficulties, ask for medical advice at the local sanitary-epidemiological station or at the infectious disease isolation hospital. It may turn out that it would save your life, as the disease would require special care and equipment. www.fragoutmag.com
