in the introduction to his book from 1928, 'V nieviedomych gorach Jakutii' ('In the unknown
mountains of Yakutia') wrote: 'There are countries that enjoy extraordinary popularity
among geography enthusiasts - everyone reads stories about traveling to Asia,
Africa, South America or the Pole'.
