the weight and the thickness because of the
rails. What's more, the top rail on the hand-
guard is far more higher than the one on top
of the receiver, so the DBAL pointer on the
rail significantly limits the field of view of my
EOTech EXPS3-0 sight attached.
Fortunately, I was lucky to have my friend,
Marcin Gałązka from Grand Masters Fire-
arms company who had a digital project
for the handguard which was similar to my
dream one. He was always too busy to man-
ufacture a single piece. But the nice guy
Marcin is, he shared the project with me so
we could tweak it to meet my expectations.
So with the design stage completed, I had
to find someone who would manufacture
the very short run of the handguards. Yup,
couple pieces are not the quantity every-
body wants to build. It took me a while, just
a month.
Finally, I was able to order the prototype
made from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum
