to impacts which was quite fre- quently reported by users. Hon- estly, I am not sure about this solution because the scales are attached with horizontal pin which will act like a wedge during the impact. Time will show if the change was right. I guess that better solution would be scales made from very hard (steel or aluminium alloy) or completely opposite, very soft material (like rubber). But I am not an weap- ons engineer, so I guess the engineers in the Fabryka Broni chose the right solution and the problem with cracking handles will be ultimately solved. There were some rumors that the bolt carrier group was re-de- signed as well. It is partially true. The reason was new and rein- forced firing pins and not the BCG itself. In the M1 variant, bro- ken firing pins happened a cou- ple of times (even in my sport variant, after 2,500 rounds the firing ping had broken – it was a very early example, replaced with a slightly improved version). That is why the A2 comes with thickened firing pin reinforced in the zones where breaks were of- ten. Well, it is all about mechan- ics and structural durability of the materials. New reinforced fir- ing pin requires a bit more space, hence the redesigned bolt carrier group. There were no additional changes. Finally, the sling is now simpler. It is easier to adjust and more "user friendly". It was a 1-to-2 point convertible sling, now it is a simpler, just a two point rifle sling. One of the reasons was the fact that when used in a two-point setup, the loose hook attachment was smashing the rifle causing damages to anod- izing. I assume that another version, C16 FB-A3 will have a bunch of other improvements and chang- es based on user's feedback. www.fragoutmag.com
