A crisis, such as the current
pandemic, is first and foremost a
disruption, and some-times the
destruction of the well-known
principles of functioning. What's
even more puzzling, there is no
way to know when this disruption
may occur. Of course, it is possible
to try to predict the occurrence
of specific phenomena, depending
on what organization or institution
we talk about, but just like with a
weapon jam – we do know it may
happen, but we are oblivious as to
when, until the moment it happens.
And just like in the case of a
weapon jam, we would take
certain steps to remove it, based
on the root cause, the same
applies to a crisis situation. What
makes a crucial difference is to
understand which steps/actions
should be taken. The first step
