MAINTENANCE
The rifle has been cleaned occasionally
- three, maybe four times in a year. If it got wet
during shooting, it was only dried and wiped.
Following cleaners were used: ProTechGuns We-
apon Cleaner, Penetrator, Gun Oil, Clean Gun (both
spray and wipes), PTFE oil, ceramic oil and Milfoam
Forrest barrel cleaning foam.
During cleaning, each time the rifle was partially
disassembled: bolt carrier group, barrel and gas pi-
ston were removed. There wasn't a single time when
a rifle was cleaned only on the outside.
Most commonly used cleaner was the Penetrator,
as it cleans deeply, dissolves residues and carbon
buildup and removes them from hardly accessible
spaces. Clean Gun (in the form of wipes) was used
for finishing and to apply protective coating and
lubricant on the parts, especially BCG and inside of
the upper receiver. The Weapon Cleaner was used
a couple of times for deep cleaning of the parts to
remove the grease and old layers of cleaners. The
parts where there is friction required were lubed with
ceramic oil or Gun Oil with a dropper. After cleaning
all external parts were coated with PTFE oil which
creates a layer protecting against moisture and dirt
adhering to the surface. It also has a satin effect on
the metal parts. The oil is applied with silicone cloth.
