Lotos S ome time ago I lost "my chemistry" with cargo pants and moved toward the more advanced "combat pants'' with all bells and whistles. BDU was over for me. But suddenly, the improved version of SFU was released. When I finally got the SFU NEXT Mk2 they were exactly what I expected: new cut, plethora of pockets and the Shadow Grey color which I always pick. It is very versatile and blends well with all tactical and non-tactical use scenarios. First fitting and I was surprised. No snagging at all and the ana- tomic (as they advertise) straight cut. Main fabric looks like usu- al rip-stop but it is 48% Cotton, 50% Polyester and 2% Elastane. Other than that: all good here. Pockets are well placed and their flaps increase the overall comfort of use. I like the top pockets and their almost "vertical" access. There is also a nifty gadget, the loop hole in the front belt loops for dummy cording of keys or gloves. SFU NEXT Mk2 are "conservative" in their design. There is nothing revolutionary in them but no one expects them to be ground bre- aking. These are a more comfortable version of the legacy pants and a very versatile piece of clothing. They are comfortable, do not restrict actions, have optional knee pads inserts and waist ad- justment. They are really lightweight and are comfortable in warm weather, functional and no-bullshit. Apparently, I won't be able to write anything special about them, except the fact that this „anatomical cut" does its job, especially if sometimes someone needs to hide the shape imperfections" :) Even the „aggressive" undercuts of the flaps are also a nice touch. I guess the more I use them, the more I like them. I also love the colorway which Helikon is also using in its other products. I leave these pants for myself and I will certainly find an opportuni- ty to use them: downtown, when going to friends in the mountains or spending time at the range. In my opinion, it is a great value for money, „cool-factor" to functionality, durability to „brand" of the product. You can look how you want - „not too tactical" or "enough tactical". They do all you can expect for them. Even for me, a guy who is no longer a fan of cargo pants. www.fragoutmag.com
