Ops-Core RAC Headsets were available in Urban Tan,
Foliage Green and solid Black. Four years later, came
the AMP.
AMP: Adaptive Mission Platform
The next-gen Ops-Core headset was unveiled in 2019.
The AMP or Adaptive Mission Platform headset is a far
more advanced little brother of legacy RACs. The main
difference is the totally modular design approach. As
you can imagine, the main problem with RAC was its
helmet-only compatibility. Of course, when there was
no ballistic threat, users could use only the NFMI plu-
gs or another headset. This required to have additional
headset for non-helmet operations or in-ear plugs which
some hate. There were some complaints about arms
breaks or seals released during the explosive entries.
The decision was made to redesign the "carrying" sys-
tem and to built a headset which can be either moun-
ted on the rails or worn stand-alone. The AMP comes
with lightweight headband as a standard equipment.
It is very minimalistic, padded with a thin layer of soft
neoprene-like fabric with wire routed through the loops.
Side note, the headband will wear down faster than
rubber headbands of ComTacs. The headband is atta-
ched with polymer bracket to the recessed tabs each of
the ear cups. The ear cups were redesigned so was the
